Every Year, since the late 90’s, I have done whatever I needed to do to attend this show. When I was just starting in my consulting business, I winced at the strain on my credit cards. I flinched at the long airplane ride. And in those days, not so many people spoke English. I was a fish out of water, and often struggling.
Nowadays, I find myself using a cane to walk, a wheelchair for cruising a show, and travel has become more complicated and uncomfortable. I will still be at Taipei Cycle 2026 (March 25-29, 2026). And I will be there again in 2027….
Why?
There are many reasons, and I will try to hit the highlights.
Most of the industry key players, both companies and individuals, will be there. And this show is not so crazy busy…so I can talk to those key people. Almost every important supplier has a booth there.
Because this show is a key interface between Asian manufacturing and Western brands/distribution, it is a very important show for buyers, and sellers, and that is the mood for all attendees.
Taipei is nearly a bilingual city. This was a conscious choice by their leaders a couple decades ago, and it has worked.
Transportation, both arriving air, and by Metro, High Speed Rail, bicycle, and car is easy. And safer in my opinion than most places. Hotels, Hostels, and BNBs are clean, safe, and reasonable in price.
Taiwanese people are almost always kind. And they do what they say they will do. They may bargain for every penny, but they keep their promises and honor their deals. Traditional Chinese business culture is one that I am comfortable with.
Taiwan does business with the entire world. They may be the most experienced and most flexible international traders of our day.
I like the food. A lot!
