The LEVA Certified Technician course was excellent! It was an excellent training performed by very knowledgeable instructor. Despite having basic knowledge about e-bikes, repairs and functionality I enjoyed the fact that Ed took time to explain the cause and effect of obvious occurrences which is very beneficial in finding resolution in day to day ebike issues of my clients.

I was very pleased with the LEVA Technician Training Course and would recommend it to both hobbyists and professionals! I took the course as a hobbyist wanting to learn how to safely and properly diagnose problems and repair my own personal e-bikes. I passed the level 4 LEVA certificate program. I found the training to be very informative and the exam to be thorough. I especially appreciated the hands-on connector and soldering exercises. I haven't had a chance to go through the extensive library of materials that were shared with me, however, the materials that I have reviewed are amazing and very helpful.

The training was very informative and full of industry questions answered. It was a quick experience with some hands on to complete. Also, the Electric Bike Maintenance Manual is a very in-depth users manual. Now I have the knowledge to pursue a new experience in the E-Bike field and come out of retirement to have some real fun! Recently completed the LEVA online training program. The manualprovided by Dr. Gerhardt was comprehensive and detailed. The instructor, Martin Massuh, replied promptly to any questions I had : all in all a well thought out and planned course.A word of warning. There is a great deal of knowledge to be assimilated and learned. Only by constantly reading the manual did I eventually begin to understand the basics of the field that i was entering.It Is all there however, all the information and direction needed to enable the student to take responsibility for themselves and the goals they wish to accomplish.Thank you. After hurricane María struck Puerto Rico in 2017 and made selling my newly imported e-bikes almost impossible due to lack of electricity on the island, LEVA founder and chairman Ed Benjamin flew down to train me for free and sponsored also the training of another technician. It was a pleasure to learn from this knowledgeable, experienced, patient and generous person who also put me in contact with industry players during the Eurobike fair in Friedrichshafen (D) and keeps answering my questions even years after the LEVA E-Bike Technician Training.I highly recommend the LEVA training.

I would like to thanks ,Dr.Don Gerhardt in advance for creating such a good program . I had a chance to talk to him for 20 minutes ( Super nice guy ).I highly recommend that program for who want to study light electric vehicle they going to give you a lot of information, regarding to electrical understanding and troubleshooting parts manufacturing tools link to different companies and finding parts …….. , and if you’re planning to go for a level 4 Mr. Benjamin through the video conferencing he’s going to break down everything for you in detail , I highly recommend when you studying make sure you write down every question ,so you can ask Mr Benjamin ,he have a time to answer every student question in detail.And thank you Martin Massuh for all the trouble I had from beginning for safe transaction, sending file, answering all my questions, helping with the video conferencing set up, testing, certificate….from beginning all the way to the end .I am very happy with this program and highly recommend it.( you are in good hand ).

I like how the material was presented. We had quite a few experienced techs in our class as well as those who just got started. It did stop occasionally to clarify topics but it was well presented so that experienced as well as novices can grasp the material and concepts.

LEVAs Tech Training and Certification Program is a bargain for the price. Ed Benjamin is an excellent instructor with a wealth of expertise and information. Martin Massuh was also wonderful to work with. I do product development and manage the technical support staff for a U.S. based ebike company and will be following up with LEVA and the leadership of my organization to see about getting my staff trained as the skills learned in this course are invaluable for any technical staff working with ebikes.

To be honest I was hesitant to sign up with the extra cost of being a Canadian buying a course in US funds. Those hesitant thoughts evaporated about ten minutes into Ed's presentation. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and was very impressed with Ed Benjamin's years of experience and knowledge. He's very hands on and I appreciate his laid back presentation style and self deprecating humor. I'm sure Ed has forgotten more about E bikes and the industry than I will ever learn. This course is perfect for a technically minded person to acquire the skill set necessary for repairing E bikes in a safe and efficient manner. Best money I ever spent. Also a pleasure communicating with Martin Massuh. I'm sure I will enjoy all of my experiences with LEVA going forward. Highly recommended...

I took the LEVA technicians course, expecting to gain the necessary knowledge to get involved with LEV's. The course delivered in spades, no nonsense, good sound advice and practical knowhow. What I wasn't expecting was the additional resources and access to a huge knowledge base that taking the full course provides. In short if you want to get into the world of LEV's, you need this course!

My LEVA E-Bike Certification was completely worth it. Before the course, I'd worked as a bike technician and installed e-bike kits on my own. In the course, instructor Ed Benjamin answered questions I'd struggled with for years. Now, just a few weeks later I'm starting a new bike tech position and I strongly believe the LEVA course helped to set me apart from other applicants. Training Content:
This special CABDA MIDWest half-day workshop has been adapted from the original two full-day LEVA Technician Training Program developed by Dr. Don Gerhardt and Ed Benjamin, taught to over 2000 e-bike retailers worldwide since 2012. The course material originated from Dr. Gerhardt’s universities and community college courses.
Registrants will learn the fundamentals of batteries, motors, and controllers to fix most eBike issues with the ultimate goal of building confidence and removing fear or anxiety while working on eBikes. Upon completion and passing a test, registrants will become a LEVA Trained Technician, receive a window sticker for their shop, and have the option to sign up for the full Live-Online LEVA E-Bike Technician Training and Certification 4-level program at a discount.
About the Instructors
The courses will be taught by Edward Benjamin, Martin Massuh, and Dr. Jonathan Weinert.
Ed Benjamin is founder and Chairman of the Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) Association. He and his team have experience covering the last 40 years of the bicycle industry and has been involved in electric bicycles and LEV companies (electric scooters, motorcycles, drive systems, batteries, motors and controllers) since 1996. He is recognized for knowing the industry inside and out – from the latest technology and innovations to understanding the cultural barriers of international business. Ed has worked in bicycle shops as a mechanic and store owner since 1969. For the last 20 years he has been involved in sourcing and technical issues as a consultant to the industry.
Martin Massuh has been the Executive Director at LEVA since 2018. Product Designer from Braground, Certified Technician and Instructor, he has shaped and developed the LEVA’s online training and certification that has successfully certified more than 1000 technicians around the world over the las 4 Years.
Dr. Jonathan Weinert is a published expert on the electrification of two-wheelers since 2006. He has two decades of experience at global automotive, industrial, and energy giants like Bosch, Ford, Chevron, Gates, and Delphi in both technical and commercial roles.
