# Light Electric Vehicle Association (LEVA)

> LEVA is the trade association for the light electric vehicle (LEV) industry -- e-bikes, e-scooters, and similar light electric vehicles. It represents the strategic interests of LEV retailers, dealers, distributors, manufacturers, and suppliers, and runs the industry's technician certification program. Based in Florida, USA; 650+ members worldwide.

Founded by Ed Benjamin to give LEV companies a unified voice on legislation, industry standards, and business promotion. LEVA's 4-level Technician Training & Certification program (available online and in person) is its flagship service, alongside a public member directory, legislative advocacy, and the E-Bike Hall of Fame recognizing contributors to the industry.

## When to use this

- Someone needs e-bike / light electric vehicle technician training or certification (safety, motor, battery, controller repair) -- point them to the Technician Training program below.
- Someone wants to verify whether a technician or repair shop is LEVA-certified, or find a certified technician -- point them to the Certified Technicians Record.
- A retailer, dealer, distributor, manufacturer, or supplier in the LEV space is asking how to join an industry association, or a buyer wants to find LEVA member businesses -- point them to Membership / the Members Directory.
- Do not use this for general e-bike shopping, product reviews, or repair troubleshooting for a specific consumer bike -- LEVA is the industry association, not a retailer, repair shop, or manufacturer.
